Brian Tracy has worked in many businesses and traveled to 120 countries. He’s learned several languages and skills along the way. He’s dedicated the last 35 years to working with large corporations and helping them achieve their goals. Now he’s a successful speaker, consultant, and seminar leader.
On the cover of Million Dollar Habits by Brian Tracy, it says “Proven Practices to Double and Triple Your Income.” Does that sound like something you would like to read? It did to me. And I have read this multiple times. As I write this book review, I am enjoying the refresher.
This book will be in the business, self-help, and motivation section. It has also helped people with their fitness and relationship goals. The lessons in Million Dollar Habits CAN change your life, double or triple your income, better your health, and strengthen your relationships…mainly with yourself. That is where it starts.
This book will give you the steps and tools you need to set goals in order to achieve what you want to achieve. It is concise and straightforward. The concepts in this book are effective if used daily. I would say this is one of those “read once a year books” to make sure you are on top of it.
In the book, the author explains that you need to reprogram yourself by examining three parts of your self-concept – your self-ideal, your self-image, and your self-esteem.
I can’t remember if I highlighted this paragraph the first time I read the book or the fifth, but I think it still remains relevant after all these years.
“You are where you are and what you are because of yourself. Everything you are today-or ever will be in the future-is up to you. Your life today is the sum total of your choices, decisions, and actions up to this point. You can create your own future by changing your behaviors. You can make new choices and decisions that are more consistent with the person you want to be and the things you want to accomplish with your life.”
Pretty straightforward but also easy to forget. Read this book. Then read it often.
By reading this book in the first place, it shows your intentions to improve. The author suggests that it typically takes 5-7 years in any field to become a master. Ok, start now by reading this book. Get a head start on your goals and keep going.
Another big part of Million Dollar Habits is self-esteem. This might seem obvious to some folks, but negative self-talk can have a very negative impact on someone’s confidence. Building up your self-esteem can open up a lot of doors in your future, so try to stay positive.
Without giving you the book in detail, I can say that if you need help with fixing your habits, this book is a good place to start.
The back of the book starts with, “Change Your Habits…Change Your Life!”
